Description
Allantoin is available in the form of colourless crystals or a white, odourless powder. It is highly soluble in water, partly soluble in alcohol and insoluble in oil. This powder has a moisturising effect at low concentrations (0.1-0.5%) while providing exfoliating properties and promoting cell proliferation at higher concentrations (1-5%). It can be used in after-shave products and acne creams. Allantoin is also beneficial for damaged hair and nail care.
Directions for use:
- When preparing your DIY cosmetic product, the powder is added to the aqueous phase heated to 60 °C.
The percentage used in cosmetics:
- Used as a moisturiser: 0.1 - 0.5%.
- Used as s a peeling: 1 - 5%
