carmine in kid's toothpaste!!!

I was planing to buy this toothpaste for my nephew. When I was searching for the ingredients, I realized that it has carmine. I just do not understand why they need to put an animal-based colorant in toothpaste, to an otherwise vegan formula!!! Such a disappointment!

My 1 and 3 year old love the taste of this which makes teethbrushing in our house lot more pleasant abd easier. I like that there is no fluoride as my 1 year old isnt quite adept at spitting out the toothpaste yet so I therefore don't need to worry about the adverse affects of fluoride. Dentist has detected no decay so it seems to be doing its job.

Our kids love this tooth gel and don't want to use any other now. Personally, I don't like the taste and can't use it. Definitely recommend and will buy again.
